If this is the first time you’ve used a coffee body scrub, you’ve come to the right place as we’ve got some helpful tips and hints on how to get the most out of your new weekly skin conditioning treatment.
What is a coffee body scrub?
Our coffee body scrubs are a complete top to toe body exfoliator, even safe enough to use on your face. it’s not only going to leave you with skin that deeply nourished, soft, silky and smelling delicious, but will also reduce the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks, psoriasis, acne, eczema and more. Even though I still have stretch marks (and I’m proud of them), I could definitely see a reduction in their appearance and their redness has given way to a silvered colour and that's what matters, as I know they will never completely disappear. The organic ground coffee, combined with Himalayan pink salt, raw sugar and a selection of oils and butters help to condition your skin and promote healthier skin overall.
Before we begin I would just like to note that I have a ‘Shub’ (shower and bathtub combo) in my bathroom with removable shower head. Be prepared to get a little messy. Tip, it helps if you place some scrub in a small dish or bowl as not to damage the scrub pack with water. Here is my shower routine when using one of our scrubs:
I grab my scrub pack and place about 2-3 tablespoons of scrub in a small plastic bowl and pop it on the side of the tub away from the showerhead. Making sure the water is warm and not hot (as hot water can actually make your skin drier), I step into the shower and dampen my skin long enough to allow my pores to open up (a few minutes usually).
I then turn the shower off, not only to save water but it’s easier to apply the scrub if I’m not having to dodge the water. I take pinch-handfuls of the scrub at a time and apply it onto my damp skin in circular motions, massaging as I go. Tip, a little goes a long way as the scrub spreads easier and further on warm, damp skin. I usually start at my arms, working towards my torso, my neck and back as far as I can reach and then legs. The key is to be a little firm and rigorous, like you are giving yourself a good massage. It’s quite normal for your skin to turn a little red from the efforts of your scrubbing too, this will fade shortly after. You’ll want to concentrate on any problem areas, so for me I work on my stretch marks to reduce their appearance, thighs to combat cellulite and heels of my feet - I’ll even sit down in my tub for this. Finally I do my face last. I usually have enough scrub on my hands still from my body and I add some of my facial cleanser (I use World Organics) to help the scrub glide over my face, and gently scrub. Now for best results I leave the scrub on for 4 - 10 minutes before turning the shower back on and rinsing clean with warm water. Take care as shower floor may become slippery after use, I tend to give the tub and shower walls a good rinsing with the showerhead with hot water to remove any residue scrub. When I step out of the shower I pat dry my skin so as not to rub off any of the butters or oils still on my skin. Tip - don’t use a crisp, clean white towel to dry off. The coffee won’t stain your skin but will stain your towel, so opt for neutral or darker coloured towels.
For your safety
Even though Honor Body Scrubs are made with natural and organic ingredients that smell good enough to eat, we advise you don’t eat it….it won't do you any harm but won't taste great either...might be a bit salty-sugary-gritty. Also we advise you to do a patch test 24 hours before use. If irritation occurs or you get some in your eyes, rinse thoroughly and discontinue use.
Hey, now you’ve heard how I use it - how do you scrub? We want to hear or even see your scrubbing endeavours, Why do you love to scrub?
